My truck already gives me a grin ear to ear but, its the ram charger with a 512ci in my class that takes it away. Pulling 17" vacuum @ 1000rpm he is pulling the front wheels off the ground. In 150' of mud he is running about 1/2 to 3/4 sec. faster then I am. My truck also weighs about 2k more than his. I know if I had the funds that a 511ci FE built with in the rules would take all even with the extra weight.
With him weight 2K less than you, even a 511 engine aisn't gonna keep up with him. A different truck, even lighter than his and you present engine would be cheaper and have a better chance. What kind of class runs trucks that weight 2K defferent? Seem sorta aimed at giving the guy with big money all the advantages. Maybe finding a different class would be easier.

I agree. That's a pretty good advantage for the other guy and kinda unfair to you and the others.
The big diff in weight is the truck itself. Ford built a truck!! A ram charger or a blazer is alot lighter to start with. As far as changing classes, it only gets tuffer as you go up. And to go down to Factory stock is reversing way too much that I have done already.
I am thinking that the 76 F150 would be 1-1.5K lbs lighter. I am guessing that loosing that much weight should get me real close to making up that 1/2 to 3/4 sec. What do you guys think?
