Hey all I have a dual 4" turbo back mbrp exhaust and I was thinking of hacking some of it and just running one pipe out infront of the right rear with no muffler.... has any one done this? I was wondering how loud it will be?
another thing you might want to consider is that the soot from your exhaust is corrosive and even though you may have black wheels they wouldn't be black from paint for very long. it'll eat the paint right off your wheels after a while.
i have seen this guy around town with a chipped 7.3L and i think it looks pretty good with it exiting out the side like that. since you have duals would it be possible to have it exit before the rear tire on each side? that would be sick! you also didn't say you had a programer or anything like that so i don't think the wheels would get super dirty, maybe though...
That would be pretty loud but if thats what you are going for then why not go to a set of stacks? Thats even louder yet, lol. Oh and trust me, people LOVE it!
here are two videos of my truck straightpiped out just in front of the rear tire, it was very loud. I changed it now to duals with a muffler and it is extremely(well not really, just nothing like before) quiet.
I would love to trade you my single exhaust for your duals. Mine has been straight piped for 2yrs now at the stock location and I love the way it sounds. Sounds like a jet at idle and deafening at full throttle with the higher HP tunes in it. But I wish I did the duals from the begining.
