Yes, and they are the most undesirable front axles around. Alright, maybe not the most,,,,,,,but they are right up there.

well i never had a problem with the lp d44hd thats in it now as far as the driveline goes how hard would it be to find one and put it in also i have disks in front now would that one still have disks and would they work withut too much modification
yes its for that truck bein its the only one i have that runs i always thought disks were first started around 75 or 76 but i will keep my eyes peeled for one i do need new front leafs on it they sag but i will keep it stock hieght its hard enough for me to get into without steps on it thanks alot for the help

Little reading to determine the difference.
There really is no advantage to the LPD60, other than having the ability to say that you have a D60.
The only larger component in the ring gear. These closed knuckle axles have puny 30 spline shafts, and are known for thier weak stub shaft. Many had rather small u-joints, and were not any stronger than a D44. If you are not breaking 44 parts now, it does not make sense to swap out to this axle. If you are breaking D44 components, you can be sure that you will also break the components in the LPD60.
no im not breakin nothin i just thought that it was stonger and i would always like to have somethin that is a little tougher than stock i was just thinkin about doin it if the d44 gives out
