it depends i've seen my dad's truck have one go out at 40k miles, i have one out at 175k miles and i've seen trucks with 300+k miles on fectory injectors.
it all depends.
i beleive if a truck has regular oil changes and is mantained well there wont be any problems but you never know
To add to Rob's response: With the auto enginuity software or a similiar scanner/software you can do a cylinder contribution & inj buzz tests to check the health of the injectors or see a problem start before it actually fails.
From what I've heard, dirty oil and water in the fuel are real hard on injectors and can kill them prematurely. But, treating them right, I've seen lots of members here talking about getting well over 200K.
I have heard they are rated at 150,000 miles. But i dont think that info was that accurate - results speak for themselves. (i have almost 300,000 and service records show that i have only gone through 3 injectors.)
I just lost three at 106,000 and either a couple of those have gone bad or a couple more have.. We'll see tomorrow and I will make sure this time that they find out why they went bad. The last ones were replaced on vacation away from my regular dealer and I'm not too happy with them..
The only reason I ask is ford has now done a bit of a backflip on what they originally said they are now only going to replace my short motor and re-use the top end so because I have had 1 fail allready I was thinking of replacing the whole lot while it is apart.

So Brandon, are you thinking about bigger injectors at this point? It looks like you are on the way too support them.
Its on the short list of mods, but I will have to stay with the stage 1s or 2s, due to the fact that I have to be able to tow the camper and dont want super high EGTS. Short list meaning within the next year I will consider it.
