I'm Thinking Of Making A Snorkel That Goes Through The Firewall Through The Hole That Was Left When I Took Out The Blower Motor. Wondering If Anyone Has Accomplished This...also, I'm Wondering What Would Work Well To Put On Top On The Carb. I Was Thinking Of Using Pvc. But So Far I Just Have Ideas...so Where Should I Route A Snorkel And What Would Be Good To Use For Supplies. This Will Be A Homemade Hillbilly Style Snorkel...just The Way I Like My Truck
There is a guy over on FSB, OX1 I think, he has the snorkel set up this way on his broncos. Seems to work pretty well. I think one he went inside and then came back out through the roof, and on others he just went to the glove box with it. He has a whole bunch of full size broncos, all setup pretty badassedly.
sorry, i didn't realize anyone needed to know what year my truck was to help with water proofing. like captain said..'77 f-250, '73 429 out of an ambulance. 4 speed. 6 inch lift 38.5 super swamper. ladder bars...air bags...hei conversion. edelbrock 600. it's not pretty, but it runs. that motor keeps breaking things. after mudding 2weeks ago...broke the spider gears in the front. prolly gonna weld them in. looking for 2.5 ton rockwells. then i wont have to worry about breaking things as often. and back to captain...i couldn't find that fella you were refering to earlier...wheres he at?

oh I was just joking, giving Paul a hard time.
Shouldn't be too hard, just use a piece of pvc coming up from the carb, and some flexible dryer exhaust tube and run it thru the hole in the firewall, like you said.
well my ideal vision does involve pvc at the carb, because i want something that i may be able to run all-thread through and bolt it on...the problem lies with sizes. i've only been able to find 6 inch 90deg elbow pvc...i believe the ring on the top of the carb is like 5 1/8...so i'm basically looking for a good part to put right on top of the carb there...the dryer tubing does fit right on the carb pretty snug, but it's a little too ghetto for me...i don't want my truck to have any cheesy parts pretty much. i mean everytime something breaks on it...i either try to find a military or tractor part to replace it haha...it's sortof a frankenstien truck...goes through hella mud though
Well I searched over on FSB (fullsizebronco.com) for his username and found some of his old threads for building the snorkel, but all of his pictures are down. Maybe try starting a new thread over there, it looks like a lot of the guys over there have done it.
