lift advice

hello all,

just registered gor the site today, because i seen some good stuff on here. my ? is this i have an 02 superduty with the powerstroke(diesel power baby yea!!) i bought it with a lift that the dealer couldnt name i assume its a 6 inch from add a leafs, since then i've put on 35x12.50x17 SSR's which has been a good tire so far. i'm thinkin about upgrading, and it's come down to a super lift 10 inch or icon 10.5 is the icon worth the extra coin? or should i stick with the tried and true superlift?

Superlift isn't anything special. Spring wise, I'd say they are just as bad as Rough Country.

I don't see why you would want a 10" lift, expecially if you already have 6", you should have plenty of room for up to 39s.

Also, if you need/want more room for tires you could put bushwacker cut out flares.
Even look good in my opinion.

The Icon, (previously Donahoe Racing) is a fantastic kit. It uses some of the best springs, and best shocks available in one package.
Search around in the Super Duty and Heavy Duty truck forum and see. This has been discussed for years, and the outcome has always remained the same.
The ICON kit is worth the money.

appreciate it fellas, the main reason i want to change is i dont know whats up under there and the last time i hit the trails it squeaked and sqawked some and my 35's rubbed the fenders on some bumps, i admit i would like to sit taller for the vanity aspect of it(and run 39.5 iroks)

Hey i like those massive trucks too! Not a bad reason! Also you might want to check Kore suspensions they specialize in big trucks like yours, im not sure if they do the fantastically large lifts like your lookin for however.

First off if your rubbing 35's I would think that you have a 4" (or less) lift not a 6". Your not going to get 6"s of lift from add a leaves. A friend of mine has a 02 PSD with a 4" and 35's and it never rubs.......ever, but he doesn't get to wild with it. That being said a 6" lifted Super Duty is a very big truck. Maybe you could break out the tape measure and check hub to fender clearance between your truck and a stocker to determine your lift amount.

As 75F350 said, and many others before him, get the ICON set up. If you can afford it that is, I just want to level my 'Duty and that's spendy enough with their equipment.

Ive got 35s (315s) on my '04 250 and they barely rub at full lock in reverse. They have never hit the fenders in any position. Im curious that if you infact have a 6" (or even a 4" lift) if you have the correct backspaced rims or were sold something you didnt receive.
