my 71 automatic start-up problem
Then a while later--try to start and have to slide switch to right again!! Is it readjusting itself? I think it is easier than bypassing the solenoid--but still inconvenient--and I do not want the wife to drive it,with this happening. Bill
All else fails, make a jumper for the two wires and hook them together to eliminate it. If I recall they are just female spade lugs? Get a short wire with male spades and hook them together. Of course, you'll have to watch you don't accidentally start it in gear.

Either the tip of the lever snaps off, or the whole tamale falls of.
This is a real common problem. The part is still available from Ford.

IT IS 9:30 HAHA!! jUST brought a 56 parts truck home, well 1 load--have to go back next week. Just got cab and frame tonight. This guy has had this N.Carolina 56 since 1972 AND in 1978 moved to Pa.,and wow he built a 30 acre resort up in a hillside that looks like a state park. He also has a 66 mustang, that may interest me.
Always nice folks when looking for FORD trucks-haha!!! The hood has been in the hay loft for 20 years and is nicest I ever saw--stock. I even got a chrome grille with 1 little bump in it. Chrome needs polished. Cab is descent and bed is descent and doors are nice. 275.00 for whole shooting match!! Been a pretty good night. OH it even has good N.C. title in his name.
Thanks for helping me with the NSS and will order a new 1 asap.....GOODNIGHT/Bill--thanks again
