Hello, I finally got around to tearing down my 66 M-100 for a frame off. So far I got the engine/tranny out, along with the entire front end body work, and the box, and the cab is just waiting to be pulled off.
Well, i decided to start working forward from the rear, and so far I got the rear diff ready to pull, but taking out the shocks, I broke bolt on the upper mount on the passenger side.
I did a search, and somebody said you could bolt in mounts from (up to) a 79. I was wondering, are these the same style with the bolt sticking out? Or are they different? I have access to a 79 F100, as thats where I got my "new" front end with disc brakes, that still needs to be put on.
Thanks, and I will get pictures of the tear down in my gallery....eventually...
I have repaired upper mounts buy removing the rivits and taking the mount off, cutting the old mount off and drilling a 5/8 hole through the mount. I then use a 5/8 20 fine thread bolt and weld the head on the back side.
Mounts differ through the years as smome adr pin type and some are bayonet.
