F250 front axle width
Can anyone out there give me the width of the various front axles from leaf spring front ends from rim bolt face to rim bolt face for F250 an F350 applications? I'm doing a conversion on a 72 F350 and have a light duty 3/4 ton 44 with 8 lug wheels that came out of a 79 pathfinder van conversion. It is 68" wide and as far as I can tell I need a front axle near 64". Yes I know the frames are different. I have an F250 4x4 that I'm using for the crosmembers and leaf spring mounts. I'm trying to deside if I need to narrow my front end, use it as is, or go out and find a dana 60 of the right width. Thanks for the info. Craig

F250 front axle width
I put '73 F250 axles under my '72 F100 and like you mention the "new" axles have a wider track (4") than the stock axles. I used rims with a 5" backspace to overcome it and get my tires back under the truck instead of hanging out from under the fenders.
