Your mod will not stop a heater core leak. The system is pressurized, diverting flow at inlet won't stop a leak.
For those interested... I took a good hard look at bypassing the core using Club's method.
I think I'm gonna see how long I can delay pulling the dash, but bypassing it isn't the answer for me.
I have big hands and couldn't see a practical way to get to the ends of the hoses that are on the engine. One clamp is turned around backwards (yea, the harder one to see, naturally) and those hoses are gonne be murder to get off the pipes in any event.
So, Barsleak will be my alternative..until I get a couple of free days to do the job right.
