Yesterday I went to my property in Belmont County Ohio about 160 miles from where I live. I took down 160 gallons of water(in a big plastic container - Tote) to water the trees we would be planting. The truck ran great down to the propetry and back. I got 12.64 miles to the gallon of gas.
The best part of the entire trip was the mudding I did. The truck went everywhere, up and down steep and wet inclines, through brush & tall grass.
My brothers 99 dodge 1500 got stuck in the mud and I pulled him out. I went in the same path he was stuck in and went through. Talk about him being mad. (he hates Fords)
The things that I don't like is the big turning radius and that the front fog lites are not covered by an inside fenter well. There's a ton of mud in there. Well I need to wash her now.
The handling was fantastic. Alot better than the 92 f-150 super cab I had. Other than feeling the water slosh back and forth the ride and pick-up from a stop or passing others was great. I got 13.42 mpg.
I went back to the property last weekend with 1300lbs of brick in the bed. I need a bed liner soon. The trip was great. Pick-up and passing far better than the 92 f-150 I had. This truck is by far one of the best vehicles I have ever owned.
great!
after you clean the underside..buy gallons of wd-4- and spray or brush on all NON-HEAT parts and underbody frames..etc....it will make it easier to clean off next time.
good luck,
Al
I went back to my property on 5-2 with a load of windows for the cabin we are hsving built. The carpenter's truck, a '88 Ford F-350 Diesel Dually, radiator blew up about 3/4 of a mile from the site with a full load of wood. I towed him to the property. The one hill gave me some trouble untill I put it in 4x4 low. The hill was muddy and steep. This truck is "AWSOME".
p.s. I replaced his radiator and hoses in an hour.

Off Road Use
What year is you f 150 that you are driving and what size of engine do you have in it. I have brothers that drive trucks and they hate ford for some reason, but i love my F-150 4x4 Extended cab 1988
The F-150 SuperCrew has the 5.4l engine in it. I haven't been driving it much because work has me going around 70 miles one way. (I bought a little foreign thing that gets 40 mpg). I went down to the property again, blue w/ silver must attract TURKEYS because there were around 30 to 35 around it when we woke up. Come on autumn.
hey my transfer case would not engage into 4x4 yesterday on off road trip then drove home turn off ignition then tried it it worked whats up with this any one have the same thing happen is this commen
