1978 F250 460 C6 2WD
(numbers indicate the engine is out of a 78 Lincoln)

I've got a Edelbrock 1407 installed now but it's inspection time again and I'm tired of worrying if they're going to fail me over the carb (or mostly the missing EGR valve). AND if I can get one mile per gallon better I'll take it in a heartbeat. :-)

If I'm not mistaken this engine would have been stock with a Motorcraft 4350 on top of an EGR plate. I've got a stock manifold and I have an EGR plate I can use.

So I'm interested in some experienced opinions, gotchas, recommendations, tips, tricks......... Whatever I can get that will help me make the decision.

Did some more searching and it looks like it's a coin toss for sure. :-) They worked well enough for Ford engineers to put in on that engine. There's probably a 50% positive slant to the opinions of this carb on here as well so I'll let you know my experience with the 4350 some day.

 

The one that came on my 460 Lincoln engine, never really ran right. I chucked it for an Edelbrock 750 and a Performer intake.
