i am leaking diesel fuel behind my fuel filter housing under the turbo pedestal and i havent pinpointed it yet but any ideas what could be leakin back there in the valley
I think thats what it could be if you're saying that the fuel pump is behind the fuel bowl with the fuel filter in it. You can actually see the fuel squrting out underneath into the valley.
What about the fuel lines? You have rubber lines between the pump and filter housing and steel lines on the back of the pump between the pump and turbo.
you really need to see where its coming from. There are three main problems for fuel leaks in that area. O ring bad on fuel bowl. Fuel bowl rotted thru on the bottom, and weep hole on the fuel pump.
If you cant see where its coming from, clean valley out VERY well. making sure to leave NOTHING damp behind. Now that the motor is dry there, sprinkle some baby powder on and start it up. Run it just long enough for it to leak a little. Disasemble and see where the powder is wet.
