Cold Weather Fuel Leak

Fuel is dripping out of a tube that's faced towards the ground at the front of the motor. Is this from the fuel bowl? Fuel bowl drain leak? It's cold out there now and I've never noticed it leaking like this before.

Your fuel drain valve is most likely leaking. As the temperatures drop they tend to leak. Check out the link below for rebuilding it with parts from Diesel O-Rings.com.

The leak went away when it warmed up yesterday. It's cold this morning. I think I'll take the old truck to work today to avoid leaking fuel.

Is it advantageous to just go ahead and buy the new drain assembly with the blue o-rings? It seems like those blue o-rings are the way to go.

You could put the new 0-rings on yours

I guess if you're in a hurry buying the whole drain assembly might make sense but it doesn't really take much time to just change the o-rings
