Swapping transmissions on E350
I have a 2004 E350 5.4L E4OD that has been converted to 4wd with Ford F350 transfer case and 07' F350 front axle assembly (coils). Is there a 5spd or 6spd transmission (5R110W or 6R88) that could be easily installed? Van does some light towing and 4 wheeling. I would like some more gears to increase gas mileage. blb350

The 5r110 won't help your fuel economy. The top three gear ratios are the same. First gear is 3.1 compared to 2.7 on the 4R100 you have now.
Either that trans or the 6R88 would be nightmares to get the electronics to work properly.
