Well Since this is the Ot thread I thought I would post some pics of my Latest vacation! As most of you know most of Cali is on fire and every one and every thing is helping to put the fire out. We went with another Family on Thursday to Saturday and here is what we saw on the lake!!
And you thought our trucks smoked alot!!
There our only two in the world the Hawaiian mars and the Philippine mars
Funny story about this pic 3 weeks before this all happened I was at this Exact same lake ( Lake Shasta) With my church group and the house boat in this pic is the one that was holding the Crew and that is the exact same Boat that I was in for a Week!
You thought our trucks were thirsty The Big plane goes threw that whole truck tanker in 1 1/2 days!!
Look at the size of the Exhaust on the spotter plane
And here is just a pic I thought I would throw in here
Some facts on the plane
Wingspan- 200 Ft
Water Tank- 7,200 gal
It took 7 1/2 min for it to complete a round trip and it did 25 trips before refueling!!
Sorry for the long post just thought you guys might want to see this Assume Plane!!
I hope to by the end of the week have a movie of this thing in action done.
Nick, thanks for the post. It is very interesting to see because of the fire problems in CA. This is something that us midwest farmers probably will never see here. That is one large bird. I always wondered how effective they were when dropping the water but 7200 gal. is a lot of stuff.

Well my dad is a Retired Fire Fighter and the Difference is like Night an Day. He said a Tanker plane one saved his @$$ once on the fire lines the only way out was a small Fire road and the fire Start to go into the shape of a Horse Shoe and it was closing in fast on the road but by the time they got there it had closed over but right at that second the tanker came and drooped
Retardend on the road so they could get the heck out of dodge so to this day he praises these planes!

Nick, thanks for the info. That is a great story and tells us just how dangerous fire fighting can be. We thank your dad and all the fire fighters for their service.
FROM SHELBY COUNTY TODAY:
At approximately 3 PM, Tuesday, July 2, a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500, pulling
a new travel trailer, hit the corner of the Texas State Bank Drive-In
on Tenaha Street, causing the complete awning to come to the ground.
Luckily, the driver of the Dodge, Mickey Miller, of Garrison and his
10 year old son were able to exit their vehicle uninjured.
According to Miller he was circling the bank to park on the other side
when the corner of his travel trailer caught the corner of the bank
awning. Next thing he heard was a rumble as the awning started falling
against his driver's side door. Somehow he was able to unbuckle the
seat beat and exit the other side of his truck as it was falling.
Mark Ivy of Texas State Bank stated that the main lobby would be open
for business while the drive-in is being repaired.
I'm fine. The trouble has been with my goddaughter. She's married to a deadbeat punk that liked to beat her up.....well, we resolved that tossing him in the slam, so he's out of the picture for the next couple of years. Well, trial pending but still.... The current issue was with deadbeats parents. They essentially kidnapped the 10 month old baby, told my girl she wasn't capable of raising her and told her to get lost.........That's when I got involved.
Funny thing thing about guys that abuse women.....they get extremely respectful when faced with a 6'3" 275lb grizzly bear that's pissed off. I guess the prospect of getting your little pencil neck snapped isn't too appealing to them.
Anyways...the lawyer and the Barney Fife wannabe were kind of an after the fact issue that ended up being more of a pain that I had anticipated.
The baby and the momma are home now and everythings cool. Now it's just a matter of getting her back on her feet so she can get on with her life.

I appreciate everyone's concern. Felt kind of good to type this.......let off a little more steam than I thought it would.

Sorry to hear about all that Scott. Glad that he is in jail and she has the baby back. Now for the inlaws, I am still looking for someone to lay down on the ground and hold a video camera as I drive over it at WOT so I can get into Scotts video of our trucks. Think the inlaws would mind doing that for me???? I promise I wont swerve and hit them
