dont go to any chain tranny shops, they will ream you big time. I would call around to a few different shops to get prices. your other option is to get a tranny from a wrecking yard with low miles on it and just swap the tranny's. this would be cheaper probably and you can do the work yourself.

And yeah, I found a local place that specializes in the E4OD, C6 and 4r100 trans, I called the guy and he talked my ear off for like 10 minutes about the E4OD, so I figure they know what they are talking about...
