As some of you may or may not know, my truck is a restored junkyard snowplow truck, and one of the things I havent been able to tackle is the bed, and now that I am done with everything else on the truck that I had wanted to do over the past 2 years, I need to address this bed. How can I go about ordering a new piece of sheet metal and cross members for this bed? Anyone know where I could find some?
Here is the picture of the truck, and then a second of the bed without the liner in. As you can see theres holes in it and its very thin towards the wheelbase.
Man it's too bad you went to all of the nice work and left the bed like that... The truck looks beautiful, but that bead floor has to go... I bet the underside is even worse. They make replacement centers and hub sides. The cross members are not available as far as i know, but you can make your own pretty easy, and probably have a better quality peice than the original.
What i would have done before painting the bed exterior i would have found a rust free bed from the south or gotten any bed from 1973-1996 and changed out the sides with your sides. The beds from 1973 to 1996 will bolt right up and the inner beds are all the same, you just have to remove the outers and put the appropriate year sides on.
