Need Help With A/C Mod

Well it was 107 today and it is just getting to be to much for my Ac to keep up with. So I went out and got my parts for the Ac mod to day but I was thinking I have an Excursion and it has to Air conditioners one for the front and one for the back. I took some pics of my coolant lines and wanted to make sure that they look like every one else's coolant lines so I don't mess this up.

So If some one would let me know if this looks the sames as on your 250 or 350 that would be great,
Thanks
Nick

IIRC, the x's have an extra heater core and evaporator for the rear air, which explains the t's in the heater core lines. If you put one in the single hose that runs to the engine or water pump, that should cut off coolant flow to both heater cores. (i'm about to go up to bed, otherwise i'd break out the shop manual and look it all up for ya, sorry)

I thought the Ex'es already had the heater core cut-off in the coolant lines. Are you not seeing it in there?? Unfortunately I can't see your pics over here (our wonderful military network likes to filter a lot of stuff out), so I don't know what you took pics of. *BUT*, I do know you'll have splits in your heater/AC lines because of the rear air/heat. My wife's previous vehicle had that option and they were split like that.

Nick:

^^^^^^^ What he said. I saw the fix in here before, and someone that is a helluva lot smarter than me (not that it is hard) posted the Ex already had it. I figure must be creature comfort vs. the P/U!!!

Maybe time for a freon recharge? I saw 100+ temps over the 4th here in SoCal, but my air is working fine.

So wait I already have this mod done? So I would not help at all to install a Cut off valve in the hose line? Just want to make sure,
Nick

According to Pop's post, the cut offs are already there. It wouldnt hurt to pick up a can of R134A with the pressure gauge and check your pressure.

Does the clutch cycle with the a/c on high and the doors open? If so, the pressure is probably low.
