Paint

Can't seem to find a paint shop willing to paint my tool box the same color of my truck for a decent price. So what I have come down to is that I need to see if anyone would like to switch a standard diamond plate tool box for a black one made by UWS with the bigger sides? If not maybe you all have a reccomendation. I am also trying to get my side rails on the bed painted the same as the truck and that seems to be exspensive so if any of you happend to have black side rails on your bed I would be willing to trade my chrome look for those. Thanks.

Jordan

I assume the box & rails are aluminum? That takes a special primer. Try a marine dealer. They may sell you the primer. Buy an inexpensive spray gun and do it yourself. Not to difficult. If the marine store will not sell you the primer try an autobody paint supply store. Black paint is relatively cheap compared to other colors.

Aluminum requires an acid etching primer ,,not sure it will work on polished ....

There's always powdercoating after it gets sandblasted to remove the finish... but that'll probably be more than painting it, but definitely more durable.
