Pomona swap meet
#16
Well, I would have to say that Pomona is not what it used to be. I am a relative newcomer (have only been going there since 1986). I usually only try to go a couple of times a year now and every time I do I swear that it will be the last. There is a majority of chevy stuff, not nearly enough Ford stuff and hardly anything for the F1 Series. Still if you have never been it should certainly be on your bucket list and unless your GF is a real keeper and low maintanence go solo. You'll be able to get thru it quicker and have to look at less stuff that may not interest you.

If you're going to Pomona, you won't be too far from San Dimas where the Early Ford Store is located. Not only do they have tons of used and some NOS parts, but the place is a virtual museum of automobilia.
On Thursday before the West Nats Truck Show, I took Aussie53, his brother and camperspecial65 there for a visit. Sitting in the driveway that runs thru the building was an all original 1933 Ford 3 window coupe.
The building itself was home to the original Ford dealership (1910) in San Dimas: earlyfordstore.com
btw: the Pomona Swap Meet ain't what it used to be. I've been attending for nearly 30 years, and most of what's there now is the same repop parts you can buy thru catalogs.
You will find very liitle Ford NOS parts, and they charge for parking and admission.
If you're going to Pomona....get there at dawn.
Most SoCal swapmeets are really over by 9AM. What I mean by that is, the smart hardcore buyers have come and gone with all the "cream."
Now what's left is the usual rusted tin and repop stuff. The crowd (a mob of ppl is a better description) consists of look-i-loos, the baby stroller set and the low buckers hoping for a bargain.
