Is there anything really big to be concerned about with mountain travel?
I know some things dont operate as well upstairs, and was just curious about my traveling through the mountains if it would be a concern for me with the OBS powerstroke.
i know it has a mechanical fuel pump, so that might not be a big deal.
nothing really, i mean watch your EGT's if you are pulling heavy and use your engine to help with braking. also if you are going to be turning and making those curves i would double check my sway bars and top off your power steering fluid.
Been to just about every one of the lower 48 this past few months......I have not had any troubles.......'cept that one time when I ran out of fuel in N.D.....damn towns were shut down at 5:00 pm..guess they were busy.....(for the guys from ND....just a joke....I make the same one about the Amish where I live)

I am through there just about once a month....just got back from Montana a week or so ago......I try to cut across hwy 2 every time....little more to look at plus its a nice drive....then I come through the U.P. on my way back to avoid frickin Chicago
ah ok, well now i can realy see why you ran out of gas though..lol i was in minot one time almost ran out of gas there trying to find and station that was open selling diesel at 2am. and minot is alot bigger than most of them towns on hwy 2
turbo charged engins do much better in high altitude than normaly asperated vehicals, iv had my powerstroke all over the rocky mountains never had any noticable loss of power due to elevation
Nope nothing to change. The only thing you will notice is more smoke due to the thinner air. And guys who are all out performance notice slower track times.
Really? hmm...
Ya, i regularly cross the cisco grove summit in my truck (9500 ish) and you'll get a bit of smoke, but it runs just the same. (unlike me... i cant run at that elevation).
