does there happen to be a write up about putting the sport mirrors on a non factory sport mirror truck. I have them and really want to put them on now the "fresh" nose is on the truck and totaly kill the hard work with the ugly chrome mirrors. and besides the driver side mirror is all FUBARED up on mine so. is it few hour job that requires a dremel and some bondo? for the holes on the bottom.
I don't think the mounting holes at the top are spaced correctly for the sport mirrors, believe somebody else around here has tried this already and ran into this problem. I have them on my '90.. but I changed the doors to the newer style.
I did had the sport mirrors installed in place of the chrome swing a way mirrors. Remove both door panels & you will see a small hole on the inner door skin, that is the anchor point for the sport mirror. From the inside, cut the well nuts for the old mirrors out & spot weld plugs in place. Cut a hole in outer door skin for sport mirror anchor to slide in that lines up with the small hole in inner door skin. Then mark outer door skin for the hole that the screws to hold mirror on, drill & reinstall mirrors, door panels, touch up paint & your done. Hope that helps.
my brother has factor sports on his 94 so if we need to mesure then thats the truck. just a trip to the driveway..
thanks for the info. on the door skins and cutting the holes.
I wouldnt have a problem changing the doors if they needed to be but mine arent rusty and in good shape other than a little faded paint (soon to be fixed).
