tranny leak

tranny leak
my trans leaks out of the bell housing. 78 c6 f250. What could it be, what does it mean? Started small and is gettng worse. Sorry, don't know much(at all) about autos.

Trans oil or engine oil?
Trans oil: the torque converter, the TC seal or other seal is going.
Engine oil: rear main seal.
If you're lucky: Engine oil leak from back of intake manifold leaking through the bell, looking like trans/rear main leak.
If you're not luck, it's pull the trans time.

Plan to pull it out. Since you are into it for that labor and the teardown/reseal labor, adding shift kit and other beef up parts is small change on top of what you are spending. So: make it the way you want it.
