Ahh, the voice of experience. If you have 2, you should know.

However, I suspect the former. Very suspicious...

Ya, but your priuses are V4s (as your sig states)...this one is an inline 4. You got a special motor option...

Diesel VW is a much better way to go...decent fuel economy, built solid and cool to boot. We had a Jetta that averaged 44 mpgs with a worst tank of 36-38. I drove it just over 200 miles at an average 100-105 mph and got right at 40 mpg. Try that in a ..... I really have nothing good to say about the prius.

Thanks for pointing out the mistake in my sig. You are correct that priuses are I-4's not V-4's. I'm usually driving my Ex, so i wasn't thinking when I wrote up my sig.

As far as the prius/jetta thing. To each his own. Diesels by their very nature are more efficient than gasoline engine, so they will always see higher mpg's than their gas counterparts. Having said that, my family chooses to drive Priuses for multiple reasons. First of all, where I live, diesel is somewhat difficult to find. Secondly, my parents drive priuses to show their support for research into new, more fuel efficient technologies. If there were suitable hydrogen cars available, im sure my parents would drive those instead for the same reason. Lastly, the priuses are cool in their own right. There is something neat about the seamless integration of so many sophisticated systems. They are just really neat.

I would love to see a diesel hybrid. Talk about mileage! The technology is already in trains, it just needs to be adapted for cars now.
