Rick, When I went to the dealer to get a drawing and part numbers one of the techs also said the injector orings. How would I check to see if that is the problem? I am guessing I would need to pull the injectors, but am wondering if there are any other symtoms before I do something like that. Can you replace just the orings on the injectors?
Other symptoms may be lacking Or low on power ,,,May be able to see oil bubbling up from the base of an injector,,,
the front cover is an easier test ,& cheaper test.. but a much more costly repair ( engine out)...
Robin, It the drawing it looks like the anti drian is behind the resivior. Is that what is under the screw that the ratchet fits in, under the hpop?
That is the check valve but it is to keep oil in the high pressure oils rails in the heads. It has been discussed that if this check valve is bad oil will drain from the heads not the reservoir but that does not mean it may not be your problem. Maybe your heads are draining. Just a thought.
That line on the right of the pic is where Im leaking oil, right at the connection to the pump itself, I was goin to replace the orings but cant find the "special" tool locally and fron international its $55 sorry for the hijack but I need some help on getting that fixed and it might help you out too since my valley doesnt look like theres a lot of oil in it untill you stick a finger in there and pull it out covered in oil.
Edit. the tool is for removing the lines and not the orings, just to make that clear. I gotta get the lines off to get to the orings.
Some chuck tools for a 1/4' air grinder work as a substitute for the special HPOP oil line tool.
