Water Pump?

I lose a lot of water when I turn off my engine. It doesn't leak as long as the engine is on, but a few minutes after I do turn it off the water starts to flow. Could this be the water pump?

Water Pump?

where is it coming from? front of engine side of engine compartment?
could be as simple as a bad radiator cap. when you shut off engine, it will get hotter before it gets cooler. this may cause radiator to flow into overflow tank. if too full, it will spill out of tube onto ground.

Thank you for the response. It is coming from the center, just behind the axl. I have replaced the radiator cap. It looks like a little of the water may be coming from around the thermostat area. I have replaced the thermostat and hose in the area recently, hoping that was part of the problem.

I've also got a similar problem with my F150 with a 302. I originally thought mine was the water pump too. I replaced it and no such luck. The truck runs cooler now but thats it. I also replaced the little bypass line. The little L shaped hose. That helped, but it still leaks a little. It used to be really bad. I'm wondering if it is that stupid line. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Water Pump?

I had a bunch of problems with my truck as far as overheating, and I looked at my bypass hose going from water pump to thermostat and realized it was pinched. It was a replacement hose I got from an autoparts store I put on last time I changed the water pump. Well, I went to ask for another one, to see if maybe I had gotten the wrong one, from a different auto parts store, and it was THE SAME size. So I told them to keep it, went home, and cut the bypass hose an inch on both sides and now it fits on PERFECT with no pinch in the hose. This helped my truck, but it wasn't my main problem. Just thought I'd share that.
