Well I brought the truck home from the shop. He seems pretty convinced that the problem is injectors. When he tested them he said he couldn't hear up to 5 of them cycling.

The codes he pulled were:
PO263
PO275
PO403
PO405
PO603
PO674

I know that two of them are for egr. Probably because I had it disconnected. The first two are injectors.

fyi -

PO674 is cylinder 4 glow plug circuit = faulty glow plug or GPCM.

P0603 is PCM KAM error = disconnected or discharged battery (did you clear codes by disconnecting your batteries?), or open / failed PCM

P0263 AND P0275 - are #1 and #5 cylinder contribution balance = when min/max pulse width adder is exceeded and cylinder does not converge. Not sure if this is conclusively injectors - hopefully a tech will comment.

I was having a problem with my '05 F350 6.0 not wanting to start after it was hot. After doing everything I possibly could do myself, I came here. With all of the info you guys had it wasn't long before I realized what the problem was. My HPOP was toast as well as my EGR sensor and valve. My diesal man says that in the oil cooler there is a plastic screen that is notorious for breaking and when this happens pieces are sucked into the HPOP, causing failure. I just wanted to thank everyone for the information. If not for you guys I would still be running in circles.

Hey Zip, I drive my truck from California up past your way on my way to the Kootenays about 1-2 times per year. Can you recommend any shops that can fix a 6.0 once I'm past Chilliwack? When I'm on Highway 3 I never see any. Are there any in Hope, Princeton, Osoyoos etc? If I ever break down on that highway it would be helpful to have a recommendation on where to go. Thanks

The guy in Princeton I took my truck to seemed ok. Vermilion Forks Automotive. He said he worked for the Ambulance service or something like that and they had alot of 6.0's. As for an actual dealership the first after Chilliwack would be in Castlegar.

Sorry I can't offer more. I don't very often take my truck in.

Thanks Zip. If I break down I hope it's not too far from Princeton or at least close to Grand Forks!

That would be the oil pump inlet strainer:

Well I have replaced the icp sensor and icp connector. As well I bought some used injectors off of ebay. All injectors have been replaced. It is running smooth and strong. Hopefully it stays that way.

We took a little trip yesterday, about 4hrs driving time. We came upon some slower traffic doing about 55 mph. I pulled out and gave it some fuel and it came to life. I was quite impressed overall.

need Help

I am currently trying to change the ICP sensor and as all the rest i have been reading it looks to be the problem. But on my 03 F350 4x4 6.0 Diesel is this sensor on the back of motor, next to firewall? I FINALLY got the turbo off and I think i found it but its still behind a load of crap and I wanna make sure its it before I do anymore removing things. thanks.

I did my 03 from the bottom. It is on the back of the engine near the top. I had to remove a tin cover/sheild to get to it.

Just go to ebay and do a search for a Ford 6.0 icp you will have a idea what it looks like. It's best to replace the connector while your at it.

where is the icp located on a 2004 E-350. I replaced the #1 injector and the engine was running fine for about 10 min. and then it started pouring grey exhust out and running rough and then shut down. I tryed to start the engine , after a few seconds the engine locked up
If I back turn the engine at the crank and then try to start it it will spin and then lock up again.I really need help Its my work truck.

Depends on when the engine was made (pre Sept 2003 ..... or post). 2004 was a transition year.
