With the cap off, engine runnning, there should be a stream (haze) of oil mist coming out after the engine has been running a few minutes. If it's a puff puff consistent to a cylinder coming on compression, that's bad. All the pressure in the cylinder is leaking past a hole in the piston, or rings, and then coming into the crankcase.
No smoke out the CCV is normal... Out of the valve cover cap is bad....
Isn't the CCV the vent on top of the driver side valve cover that a small hose runs from the top of the valve cover and conscts to the intake tubing between the turbo and air filter. If that is it then a light misting of smoke comes out of this tube. I have since extended the tube to run down underneath the truck and have sealed the hole on the intake tubing.
Yes, that is the CCV. If you have extended the hose to exit the rear, make sure it is still misting at the end. The mod has been known to clog or kink.

It is still misting. I am going to run a new line eventually but have not had time. Thanks again guys for the help.
My next venture is a biodiesel processer in the works. Have all of the equipment and used cooking oil, just got the chemicals to refine it so within a week I should be running off of recycled cooking oil. Diesles prices are $4.87 here, cant afford to fill her up any more.
