I was looking at how I could change to a bigger exhuast without braking the bank I don't think a kit would not work becuase it is a cab/chassis truck (frame rails are only 34 inches wide) I would like to turn out before the rear wheel. Does anyone who has run this set up have anything good or bad to say.
Well, you can build one. Napa will sell you exhaust tubing, if you go on their website.
TJbeggs has had experience with these, and he tells us it'll black out the wheel.
Also, look into a dp from tymar performance. i believe he has the best ones. (3"-3.5"-4")
building it wouldn't be a problem, I have found that big truck parts supply places are better places to get the bigger pipe and you can get it by the foot so you don't have to buy extra.
Blacking out the wheel is what I was mainly curious about. I wonder if a turndown would help.
I bought a 10 foot piece of 4 inch pipe. Used the chop saw and made a 45 degree angle and dumped it out infront of the axle. I even put a "go fast tip on it." It will turn your wheel black, but nothing a wash cloth and soap can't handle.
I don't think a turn down will help. Looking at your sig, you don't have a chip or inj's so you shouldn't be putting out any smoke. When I was stock I never had to clean the rim...
Oh yeah, I could have sold my extra pipe back.. but I opted to keep it. You never know.
if you wash your truck on a regular basis you have nothing to worry about. but if you never wash your wheels you will start to notice the right rear wheel starts to gray out. i had my turn out before the rear wheel for a long time even after swapping stage-1's, D66 turbo, and 4-pos chip. i could completely black out my wheel in no time! thats when i ponied up and put some stacks on! i love them!
I just found a place that wrecks school busses and got some pipe from them. Has to be diesel. 4" pipe all mandrel bent. Had to do a bit of cut and paste, but fior $10, who's going to complain........ I went in front of the wheels. Takes less pipie, and I like it that way too. It's also a good time to cut out the cat and maybe muffler too.
