hello i have a 90 bronco and as wondering what the load rating of the rear leaf springs would be. Are they half ton springs? i have a pair of rear leafs off a 91 f250 and was wondering if they would fit. my main goal is to get rid of some of the body roll my bronco has when taking off from a stop. any ideas???
I agree with Kem, if the truck sits OK at a stand still, the springs are OK. Body roll usually means right to left and is caused by poor sway bars. In your case, I would describe it as heave and dive, caused by bad shocks.
Dr. B, the Bronco springs are rated like the 1/2-ton F-150. There's either the standard 4-leaf rear pack, or an optional 5-leaf pack for towing. F-250/F-350 leafs will fit, but will be much stiffer. I've used a single 250/350leaf in palce of an AAL on a few lift kits. With that said, I would agree with the other posts and suspect wornout or too-soft shocks if you have much side roll. Another problem could be worn body mount bushings. JSM84

Welcome to FTE. There is tons of great info from great people here. If you have not found it look up above for Forums then select Search. If you enter two words put a "+" in front like +best +shocks. Shocks have been discussed several times.

Try replacing your front and rear factory sway bar link rubbers-the Ford house still stocks them and it will make a world of difference when turning. Or replace the rubber with poly.
I'm not sure if it would help but I've heard of people putting shocks designed for the rear and putting them up front. I recon that that would solve any problems with the IFS hitting the bump stops (if you had that problem) and help with nose dive when you have to slam on your binders.
