Yah your right about that. I was at a a dealers lot yesterday. OMG for the huge number off f series trucks on the lots. Its going to be a long time before they get those trucks sold. My bet is January. If you guys are looking for an 08 the deals will be getting sweeter.
Isn't it $3K now? On top of all the other incentives Ford is practically giving these F-150's away. A great buyers market only to get better IMHO.
aye... too bad they look twice as bad upon truck trade-ins from people wanting to upgrade to a newer or bigger truck even... they offered me 9 grand for my truck... told them i'll be back once they drop the price on them 08s another 6 grand so I can recoup the trade in loss...
I have heard up to $15,000 off an F-450, and about $11,000 of an XLT Supercrew. But if you wait the deals will only get better, especially when they have leftover 08's and the 09's are on the lot then you will get insane deals.
Actually WHEN are the 09's to be produced now? My betting is NOT until January. More delay's to be announced in the very near future?
Naturally there is a possibility that the dates could be pushed out farther, but the current Job 1 dates are as follows...
Kansas City - 08/18/08
Dearborn - 09/22/08
Scheduling is supposed to begin the week of August 4th, but it will only be for retail and fleet orders. All dealer stock orders are going to be tagged as unbuildable for the time being.
I went by two Ford lots over the weekend and there were close to 100 F150's on both lots.
I stopped in and they weren't serious enough about unloading them yet so they sit.
I'm sure these trucks will still be sitting there at the end of the year.
They're going to have to offer 60 Mos 0% financing on top of employee pricing plus about $8000 off on top of that if they want to move any of these trucks.
Ford is in a world of hurt right now.
I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see the 09's until March of next year.

If we don't see them until then, then they better have ecoboost engines at launch and a diesel option and no delayed rollout of cool options like they usually do.

( Ecoboost) That's exactly what I'm waiting for. I don't need 400 HP but I would like 325 and 18-24 MPG like they say this engine is capable of getting.
We'll see how it actually does if it ever gets to market.
Wait until the new MY is released and you'll always get a good deal. This is what I did with my '06. Paid between $1-$2K under invoice since they we're trying to move the '06s since the '07s were already on the lot.
Now with the redesign coming out with 6spd & boosted power, most people buying a truck will want the '09s, so I'm sure you'll get a crazy deal on any '08s left on the lot. So if you think now is a good time to buy and you don't mind getting an '08, then wait until the '09s are realeased. Like others have experienced, just don't expect to get much on trade-in unless you trading a ricer.
You do have a point. If you can live with the 5.4 like it is and the 4 speed tranny have at it. You'll get a screamin' deal on an 08.
I'm more interested in the bigger Screw with the added room and the 6 speed tranny with the nicer interior.
I'm also waiting for the 4.6 Ecoboost.
Late in 09 the deals will be just as good as the deal will be on the 08's in the near future.
It's just a matter of waiting it out. I'm not in a hurry.
With $6.00 a gallon gas on the horizon truck prices and values will keep falling big ime.

I mean, you can price out an 08 SuperCrew Lariat with all the goodies for 35k easy on Ford's website.
Lets say the knock off 10 grand and 0% financing, but it still comes with a 4 speed auto.
Is that new 6 speed auto really worth 10 grand, considering it does pretty much the same thing as a 4 speed?
Probably not. A smoking deal is still a smoking deal.
