So today, i replaced all the gauge panel lights in my truck. After I finished up the job and reassembled the dash i noticed some sort of dinging. It would ding three times, pause for about 30 seconds and then ding again three times. After several rounds of this dinging it will stop all together, but once the truck is shut off and then recranked it does the same dinging. It is not the bell that goes off when the lights are left on or the door is open. It is a little fainter and has a different tone. Does anyone know what this is?

this might be cause one of your lights is out, so it dings a code , i think it might be an airbag one. check your airbag if it turns on when you turn the key, and check you passenger airbag light , by the off switch. , it might be an clock spring too...
about a year ago I had a little fender bender and the clock spring was knocked out...when i changed the bulbs in the dash, i purposely left the airbag light bulb out so that the airbag light wouldn't stay on. Is this what it is?

thats what i said it will be, had the same problem...
change the clock spring and put the lightbulb it, its not worth your life few$$ worth of parts. and remember airbags save lifes, if your system wont work anymore you wont know it, and you risking not only your life but life of your family and friends. get it fixed....
