Sounds like a bracket loose. Set cruise at 77 and when the cruise lets off the gas, you can hear the rattle. It does it at other various times. Ford dealer says they can hear it but they can't tell what it is. They do not think it is the rear end.
I see a lot of posts that says check the heat shields, check for rocks in the heat shields, or get it on a rack and bang on different parts of muffler with a rubber hammer to create the noise with a tech underneath.
I travel the interstates a lot so after a couple of hours it is really annoying.
Thoughts???
Thanks

Reason: Updated truck info
so what do you do when the cat is rattleing? can you strip that outter part off or is that part of the cat? mine does it once and awhile and it is driving me crazy!
No I think he ment it is coming apart inside the cat, and if that is the case you can only replace it. If it is the outside shield that is rattling then you should be able to move it with your hand to see if there is play. Of course only do this when the motor is cool.
ok, this morning i went out there and looked at it again, the cat is falling apart and rattling, so i took a pair of channel locks and bent the edges back together as tight as i could and it stopped the rattle ! was a pretty easy fix, hope it helps out and thanks for your guys inmput
