Two Questions

I have a 1993 F-150 with an A/C fan problem. When on Max, it works for a short time then shifts to the defrost vent. I know it's a vacuum problem as I hear a hiss under the dash when it occurs. The question: is there a likely spot to begin searching for the leak?

Secondly, has anyone tried freeze 12? I've seen it in the parts stores, and know it voids some warranties, but don't know anything else about it.

Thanks for your help.

Jason

The Max position opens a door on the inlet airflow, to take air from inside, rather than outside. There is a vac motor to do this. Maybe your vac motor or the hose to it has a leak. Check me on this, isn't there a vac motor and hose under the hood, right by the heater fan motor where the firewall and right fender come together?

That's where I found my leaky hose. The hose looked fine on the top, but there wasn't much left on the bottom.
