I have a 2007 Lariat F150. The stereo isn't that great in it at all. I figured as much as I spent on the truck Ford would have decent stereo in it. I was wrong. Do I have a factory sub? If so where is it located? Do Lariat' not have an upgraded stereo?
If you do it will be under the back seat,do you have alot of base?if not then you probably dont have one.Yes the factory system sucks, can't stand mine, speakers vibrate and you cant hear it if the windows are open unless you like the sound of distortion.
Yeah I have no base at all. It's terrible. I am use to the Bose system and when I bought the Lariat I assumed it had an upgraded sound system. I guess I was wrong.
Even with the Lariat you have to up-grade the sound system to get a factory sub. I have that and I think it sounds OK. But that is hearing it through 56 year old half deaf ears. My two sons say it sounds OK, but I think they have their tonges in cheek when saying so!

The bose systems i've heard may have base, but they certainly have no bass. You know what they say, no highs, no lows, must be Bose. The lariat does have an upgraded stereo over the XL model. Standard stereo in that is a radio.
I would take that Bose over what I have now any day of the week. That thing sounded great. If the Lariat came with the upgrade I would hate to hear what the regular version sounds like. Needless to say I am disappointed in the stereo. You think if you spent 35K you get a nice radio. Love my truck hate the stereo.
Well there it is. Don't buy a truck for the stereo. But I hear ya. You would think at the price of a Lariat, and at least somewhat of a good sound system would be included. Hey Ford has only been here , well like forever. UUUHHH
Ya would think they would just at least keep up with their competitors.
But I like my truck, I like Ford trucks. So I am their sucker.
at least the truck has an AM/FM/CD player. I've had many a F-150 that came with AM only from the factory. 1 or 2 even had AM/FM and cassette. My 06 is the first that ever had a factory CD.
Look into the Mustang Shaker radio. It's a direct swap in the F-150/Expy and the sounds quality is great in those. But then again, I think my F-150's radio is just fine. I thought the Mach 1000 in my Mustang was overkill...but hey different strokes
I do know the Lariats have the extra tweeters in the front doors, but it is a diffrence when u do have the factory sub., as far as a truck with factory radio goes
Look under the left rear seat. The sub is located there in a long plasic box. I have the audiophile system in my 06 screw. Its not a high end system but it's not bad when you tweak the bass and treble settings.
Do you know what color the power wire to it is? I want to use it for something else if I can find it. My truck doesn't have a SW but I'm hoping the wire might be there somewhere in the harness.
The AMFMCD player sounded a lot better in my 05 after I went to the "Menu" and tweaked the controls. you can dial up the bass that helped a bit, without distortion. Also like that speed/volume setting.
