Any thoughts on the flex-pipe? I should be able to get it at any big rig place right? Or I see PDP has it in 1ft pieces.

I have never used the flex pipe myself. Does it clamp over the existing pipe or is there some type of adaptor that you use to attach to the existing pipe?

Looks like it's 4" ID and then need some clamps.

It does look like a 4" ID. If you go that route i would pick up a couple of the band style clamps that they show in the pic. I only wonder how flexible this stuff is. If it is to flexible then you may be back to the original problem. One of the guys with stacks may be able to answer that.

I have used a 6" C clamp to get mine to oval some to gain the clearance. Then I put a board in there to space it off while I tightened everything up. Still shifted a small bit once done but it doesn't make contact anymore.

that sounds like too much work... just wedge in a piece of 1/2 inch plywood and after time the exhaust will settle in/rust into place. The plywood will fall out and your good to go!

(use a piece of string on plywood so you dont take out someones window)

Well, I picked up a 6' section of aluminized at NAPA for $30 and two band clamps. It isn't very flexible so we'll see. Hopefully I'll get to it tonight. Six ft was the shortest they had. O' well, I guess it can't hurt to have extra around. Never know, might just have to put in a single-stack one day.

Wonder if that flexible pipe also cuts out on drone? Since there is a flex joint now, it should dampen some of the harmonic engine vibrations transmitted out of the downpipe's metal.

I too am glad you are fixed. Kinda makes you wonder how us 5" guys are getting by. A lot of good ideas here, none of which I have had to use. For those viewing, a 4" will fit just fine as will a 5". The 5" does require some bolt clearancing but it will go.

Glad you are happy now Jason. Just wanted to point out that even a 5" system will go in there no problem.
