This is odd to me. The air in my 1994 F150 works real well when I am driving around town and the highway. However when I come to a stop so does the cold air. It only blows out hot air(or what ever the temp is out side.) It is like it kicks to vent only. But as soon as I get on the gas the cold air kicks back in. Any thoughts and or suggestions? Thanks in advance.
Sounds like the pressure switch is turning off the compressor clutch. Maybe check refrigerant....could be a little low, causing the low pressure switch to drop out.
Thanks for the reply. The 134 is good. 35psi on the low side, and 220 on the high. Where is this preassure switch? And how would I go about checking it? Thank in advance!
There is a plug on the accumilator. I would unplug it, and put a jumper wire on it, and see if the problem goes away. You could also use a meter and see if the switch is closed at idle.
