Better fuel milage

I just purchased a '99 F-150 with 108,000mi.
What are some things I can do to improve MPG?

Welcome to FTE bigmike371!

What do you know about the truck? What engine is in it? What are you currently getting for mileage?

It is best to start with changing all the fluids. Change the spark plugs, air filter, and fuel filter. Clean the MAF. Good luck!

dont let the truck shift past 2500 rpm. that should help too!

i found if i dont drive my truck a tank of gas lasts a little longer, not much though......welcome to the bad, bad mpg club !!

Switching to Motorcraft synthetic blend oil helps too. I gained 2 mpg since I switched to that stuff and its not really all that expensive.
I think its something like $2.50 a quart, which is a heck of a lot cheaper than the $7 a quart for Amsoil or Mobil 1.
