replacing master cylindar with power boost
I posted this question on the 67 to 72 site but got no replies, so i"ll ask here. i am working on a 72 3/4 ton f-250 4 WD for a friend and he is not pleased with the way the brakes work and i am wondering if there is a conversion from a donor to this truck that has power boost without doing anything else. or is this feasable.? will the rest of the system be able to handle the pressure. i cant think of any reason why but maybe there's something i need to know before i try it. Some of those trucks came with vacume power brakes. Is this what you want or do you want the hydraboost that runs off the power steering pump. I just put a hydraboost from a 99 1 ton onto my 65 1 ton. It was fairly simple and will now make you kiss the winsheild if you hit the brakes hard.

I want to do just the power boost as the truck does not have power stearing and i dont think he wishes to go through the work or time to do the upgrade. just looking to enhance the original system. Dutch

Dutch check out the article I did for the 57-64's. It has the part #'s I used for the brackets to mount the booster to the firewall. You can also buy a stock booster from any auto parts store for around $155 loaded (has master cylinder for disc or drum) or unloaded between $87-125. I can buy them from Kragen at that price and have them shipped within a day to the store.
