in the last week I have been hearing poping noises from under the cab. i had the trans replaced about a year ago but can not figure it out. could it be the ball joints or something?
Is it happening all the time, just over bumps, just while turning, while braking, while going slow, while going fast. Can you expand on it a little more.
What Scott said.
Remove the swaybar and drop links for a day or so and see if it goes away. If so, you have your problem located. Replace worn parts as needed, usually the drop link bushing.

Yes all of the above, i dont work on my truck i take it to a mech.
I just went down the pop noise road and it was a ball joint. For a quick check just put the jack under one side of the front wheels and raise the truck wheel off the ground via the manual instructions. Grab the top of the wheel and the bottom of the wheel with each had. Push and pull alternately. If the wheel moves and clicks you have a busted ball joint. It will take you about five minutes to check each side. At least you will know if that’s the issue and can tell the tech.
