well i put the new thermo in and the hoses still dont get hot but the engine runs right now. my bottom hose gets hot though and my engine stays in the normal range. i checked my other thermo and it was stuck closed. the hose to the heater core get hot part way up but not all the way. im still hoping its a plugged core cause im broke right now. i just hope its not the pump. ive went through the timping chaine replacment and the pump is a &%$#@ to get off. if its that ill look into an electric pump and fan alternative.
Well, I put it in the shop......just couldn't figure it out, so I'll let a professional see what they can do.....I'll let you all know what he says it was.....maybe it will help someone else sometime down the line...
Just so you all know......heater core was shot.....I'm still baffled by the temp. gauge fluctuating, but hey, I got it back and the heater works like new!!
Well, I changed the thermo....now it heats like a dream...believe it or not...i even get better gas mileage. The old thermo was never closing all the way and I'll bet that it was opening too far when it got hot.
heh just tested my stuff. my core is plugged from that alumi seal stuff so im parking the thing. im sick and tired of fixing it and and haveing to fix more stuff that breaks cause i drive it instead of it seting. till i either sell it or get a 302 to put in it i dont care if it catches fire. it'd be warm then lol.
