Heater coring is leaking. I think ...

My 92 F150 leaks radiator fluid. It drips down the body-to-frame-attach point on passenger side under the door near the front, but not on the inside of the cab at all. It seems to leak only when I leave the heater switch turned "on" after I shut off the vehicle. I'm not 100% sure of this.

Question: Does the radiator fluid still circulate in the heater core when the switch is off and the engine running.Or does the switch cut off circulation? I'm guessing the switch cuts off circulation.

But if I leave the switch in the "heat" position can radiator fluid leak out of the heater core? My heater core is original and over 23 years, I think.

Regards,
Larry

The temp **** turns on the flow of coolant to the heater core…

No, the temp **** moves an air door, the "blend" door, to either route air through the heater core or bypass it. Coolant is flowing through the heater core anytime the engine is running. The heater core is inside the cab behind the glove box. A leaky core will leak coolant inside the cab.
I'd be looking at the hose connections to the heater core at the firewall under the hood.

If it's not leaking inside the cab, it's not the heater core. Probably a line or where it connects to run through the firewall. I've had to replace both heater lines due to small holes and leaks.
