I have the DJM beams. No miles on them as the truck is undergoing a near complete tear down. I bought my front beams from Summit. The package they sent had two driver side beams. I contacted DJM and they shipped the correct passenger side, arranged pick up of the wrong part and then sold me the rear drop for a discount to make up for the mistake. Went in without a hitch.
If you buy from Summit you can apply for their credit card and get interest free payments for about 6 months.
paul - I forgot to say that when I did the drop I did the disc conversion, new springs, brakes, wheel bearings, the works. And everything was cleaned and coated in POR-15. So I wasn't messing with 43 year old gunk and rust. The rear drop is still in the box. I plan on lifting the bed off to do the rear tank and swap in the rear end from my 74 donor, so I'll install then.
I bought a 1974 f100 for a donor ($500). Sold off $200 worth of parts so far and got everything I need for the disc, PS, and rear swap. Can't really tell how low the 65 is because it is up on dollies so I can swing it around in the garage, and the front clip and engine are out, so the front suspension is uncompressed. I got the beams, added the spindles from the 74, put in new king pins (you need a tool - I was able to borrow one), then lifted in as one unit. You should really look to do the disc conversion at the same time.
ive got the ibeams disks and springs from a 74 f100 2wd thats why i was asking now when i buy the i beams do i get the one for the 74 or my 66 cause the disk conversion is from the 74
it's all the same, thats what makes the disc swap using the donor beams so easy. The DJM beams are specific to each side as the end piece of each beam is angled back towards the cab, the factory beam is straight up where the spindle mounts. VEry easy install, tie rod extenders were the hardest part and that is only because you don't have a lot of travel with teh wrench when installing. I did file the edge of each extender a little to remove the sharp edge which gave me a little bit more travel on the wrench.

thats funny, i've been lookin for the 3" drop i beams, and been saying no on all the internet $650 + prices and saw this thread and they are only 585 to my door from summit. they are ordered and on back order but should be here in 2 to 3 weeks. i would have never thought to look at summit for them if not for this thread.
