Looks great, thing for me to do next. Congrats on the install. Just wondering, since your waiting for the up pipes, where did you put the temp pyro probe?
Just put your pyro probe in the manifold, and don't worry about the shavings- they aren't going to hurt anything so long as you take your time, start small, and work your way up.
I mean I was gonna put mine on the manifold right before the up pipe, but since I have to do the up pipes anyways I was just gonna wait till I did them. I've heard its better to put it pre-turbo but I'm weary of drilling and tapping the manifold as it is...
Take your time and use several drill bits. When you tap, you might practice on some scrap metal first to get the feel for it before you do the real thing. You go in a little, then back out. Add more tap oil, go in a little further, back out. Keep going until you've got it in far enough. It's not difficult, but does take a certain "touch".
Oh and when I did mine, I just drilled, tapped, and installed. There won't be that many shavings in the exhaust, and the few that are will blow out though the turbo without hurting anything.
I drilled and tapped my up pipe several years ago and that is where it still is. No problems as of yet. I blew any shavings out the exhaust. The good thing about this is if you botch it, a simple clamp will repair the oopsie, but it is highly unlikely unless you tap too far.
Either the manifold or the up-pipe work fine for a pyro install. DO NOT put it in the downpipe- your EGT's will read low and you risk melting your motor down.
Since the OP is doing up pipes anyways, he may as well wait and drill/tap the up pipe on the bench unless he's in a big hurry to get the pyro working. As for you big poppa pump, pick your favorite spot and do as I or Joe said- just drill and tap, don't worry about the shavings. I didn't use any grease or oil on the tap when I did mine. The up pipe will probably be a lot easier to drill for you than the manifold.
