1963 3/4 ton value?

My father-in-law bought a 1963 3/4 ton Ford pick up new in '63 and used it for many years in his work as a brick mason all over the DFW area. When he retired the truck in the 90's he had it repainted, the interior redone and the 292 V8 rebuilt. He has not had it registered since 1998, but ocassionally drives it around his farm in East Texas. He is considering selling it and would like to know what he should ask for it. I know you need more information and probably a picture for a good estimate on value. It certainly isn't a show truck, but it looks and runs good. Is there a ball park number where he should start? What else do you need to know for a ball park estimate? He is in his late 70's and doesn't have a PC or email so I'll direct any questions to him.

Thanks,
Dave

I cannot help you on the price, but if I were you I would want to keep it in the family.
I am very sentimental though.
I have my grandpas 63 F-100 and sure wish it were an F-250.

We plan on giving it to my nephew who graduates from O.U. this year and he wants to restore it.
Not sure how old you are, but you may be sorry if you let it go.
Just a thought !

Don't sell it....it's a heirloom of the modern derivation...I've got my Aunt's 1970 F250 Custom...and well, I'm sentimental....I consider it a time capsule...and I bet your Dad..and you too, have some great memories...of maybe just going out for an ice cream at the Tasty-freeze or something....

That's just my opinion...if you, or your dad is bent on selling it...Hemmings Motor News...Classic Cars dot com...and so on...there's Auction Guides with highs and lows...

All kind of ways to determine value...short of spending money to have it appraised....

Well, I hope you keep it...

All the best, all the way.

I told him to park his truck on my 2 acres...but he insisted on keeping it close to him...the po po didn't like it parked on the street...so they towed it...he let them keep it... Fall 1999

i would peronally keep it... maybe you have a son or something and you and him could restore it and what not... and the day he gets his drivers liceness hes got a pretty cool truck to drive around in... one of the only reasons why i bought my 63 f-100 was cause i remembered my grandpa used to have one... not sure if its the same one he had.... or not... but its the same color and same body style.... makes me feel special... and grandma looked at me when i drove it home and said... "looks just like your grandpas"
