1963 F250
This is a 2 owner (dad and sister ) 1 family truck. it was purchased new in Panioa Colorado. It came with the 292 Y block V-8 with a single barrel carb, and I think a Borg Warner T-10 4 speed transmission, I was driving when it rolled 200,000 miles in a blinding snowstorm in western Kansas in 1976 as I was heading home to Colorado. it has 28,000 on the Odometer some I assuming it has gone over 300,000 miles. The truck came with the 292 but it was replaced in 1973 with another 292. My dad tore it down to the frame in the late 80s, he didn't fix anything but had it all painted, not sure if he rebuilt the engine or not.
My dad started life farming with horses and mules, served in korea and then used the GI bill to go to college. As an engineer he worked for the bureau of reclamation and built many of the dams in the western US, this was his work truck, Most people wont believe what this truck has carried and the weight involved. I do know the truck rotates around the rear axle and how many tons it takes to flatten the overload springs.
After my fathers paint job and probable engine overhaul he gave it my sister as she was a large animal vet at the time and needed a good truck. She parked it in 1999 as she moved on to the US Army and is now a full bird colonel. She wants to get it running and usefull again, and it will be a labor of love for me.
I am a manufacturing engineer in real life and I have spent the last three days walking around the truck and looking at it. Most of the things I thought I wanted to do I have thrown out of the window. I have been struck at the simplicity and beauty of the design, not just the look of the body, but the layout of the engine compartment, the assembly methods etc.... its a pretty awesome overall design that needs to be preserved.
More later...
I was taught the difference between a Flareside and the butt ugly Stepside at 6.

Flareside = Ford, a Stepside is a Chevrolet/GMC / Styleside = Ford, a Fleetside is a Chevrolet/GMC.

Your 292 has a 2V carb, the 4 speed is the Borg Warner T-98.
1V carbs only used with I-6's, Borg Warner T-10's were only installed in misc. 1962/66 cars.

Do you have digital pix of your truck from digital camera or phone on your computer? If so it is easy to add them to a post (assuming the file is not too large). Find the pic on your computer and leave it open while you come here in another window. Compose a post, click where you want the pic to appear in the post. Click on the picture icon at the top of the posting box (looks like a postcard with mountains and sun) A dialog box will open asking if you want to drag a pic onto the box or browse your computer to find it. If you have the pic open, go there, right click anywhere on the pic and chose copy from the menu. Come back to your post and right click on the box. Select paste from the menu. Your picture should appear (it may take a few seconds to load) in the box. Now left click on the insert button.
If the stars all aligned your picture should now be in your post window. Select post to have it appear on the forum or repeat to add more pix. Some cameras make huge files these days that are larger than the forum limits. You may need to resize or resample the picture and save the smaller file version with whatever picture editing software came with your picture taking device before you can post it.
Oh! and welcome to FTE and the old truck madness.
