To me leasing has it ups and downs but makes sense for some people for sure I saw the 83 and the 02 up for sale on kijiji good luck there Sherm I hear ya about sick of spinning through winter loud and clear just need to get rid of winter haha
it'll be an '08/9 f150, supercrew, 6.5ft box, xlt 4x4, 5.4l auto...i don't think i'll dress it up much other than maybe a tow package, but for the amount i tow, i might even skip that. it all lies in weather i sell the s'crew i have, or both trucks...basically i have an ammount that i feel comfortable paying/month and if i can make it happen, i'll get a new truck. if it doesn't happen i'll wait until i'm more willing to spend more, or buy it outright...
What color? It is good to hear you setting a budgeted amount of monthly payment and sticking to it - there are lots of people who should be doing this but all too often you hear 'it was only this much more per month for this, and only this much more per month for that', then we see cash flow problems develop where the Visa starts to carry a balance, and in the words of Paul Harvey, you know the rest of the story!
being self employed without a fixed income i have to be cautious as to how much money i tie up as payments. i can't guarantee that next year i'll be as busy as i am this year so thats why i'm being extra careful. if it works out for me to get an 08, it'll be stone green metallic, that's the only one they have in stock in my price range, if i wait for the '09's, it'll probably be black or white. like i said...everything is on hold pending the sale of my other 2 trucks...
With those lower accents and wheel flares a different color, I like the fact that in a few years down the road when they get a bit chipped up, etc, they can be repainted and not have to worry about paint matching - a few bucks spent on a 4 or 5 year old truck will surprise you at what a difference it makes. Mine is going in tomorrow for some of that kind of stuff - a few chips, repaint the lower leading edge on the dually, and a polishing! Next week, its getting a complimentary interior detailing due to some complications on the last visor replacement that had me make two extra trips to get things done right!
