Good morning all. I'm in the process of restoring a '72 F100 and am looking for a replacement in dash radio speaker. Does anyone know anyone know of where I might find one? I know I could make something work but, I'd like to do it right by keeping it stock. At the moment I'm living in Amman Jordan but the project is in Fort Worth Texas. There are a couple of other odds and ends that I need to locate but, this has had me stumped for quite a while. I'll be going back in December and hope to have the truck finished. Thanks for any and all suggestions------Bob
I think Ford just used a conventional speaker in the pickups with am radio. Try and find out what size, and any speaker the same size will work. I would just get a Walmart special like a Jenson, Pioneer or something of that nature.
Thanks for the reply. I’ve been those routs already and they won’t work. The mounting bracket that holds the stock speaker to the dash has a square hole in it that the speaker fits into. Around the magnet on the stock Ford speaker is a piece of metal that fits and holds the speaker into the bracket. That’s what I meant by I could make something work but I’d like to keep it as original as possible. I do know that the speakers for the 67 through 72 were the same. Again, thanks for the reply but, I guess I’ll have to keep on searching-----------Bob
I realize thisis in response to an old post, but the info might be helpful (better late than never). There is a company which recones old speakers, which might be an option, that is if you still have the original speaker and reconing would solve the problem. nOt sure how the price runs, and don't know about the quality or service, but the company is Vintage Radio Restorations and the website is

I am considering this for one of my '64s- let me know how it turns out if you take this route.

I have a 72 F100 too, Im not buildin mine to stock though..hehe Even though it had the orignal radio in it, but when we hooked it up it started sparkin so ditched it..And bought a Sony CDX2250 Cd player...well i thought we could cut out the dash and fit in there, But instead we built an overhead consule and a Custom headliner, Also putting 2 6 1/2 inch speakers in the consule, And then the 2 6x9 in the door(which acts like a metal box hehe) Sounds really great, Not compared to most others, But hey...for a 27 year old truck its great! If that damn gas tank wasnt behind the seat id put some subs and a power amp in! But i guess none of this helps ya much lol When the trucks painted ill post some pics in the Pictorial
