I have a 2000 Ford Ranger that has a radiator leak. There's a crack in it near the top of the tank. I know there are instructions on here about how to replace a radiator but I was wondering if there are any "how to" videos somewhere about radiator replacement. It's always a little easier when you can actually watch someone do it as opposed to just reading how to do it. Thanks for any help on this.
Look. to replace radiator is easy.... Just do not disconnect AC ines to keep refrigerant inside....
Well, I've never replaced one before so that's why I ask about that. I'm sure it's easy for someone that's done it before. I just want to get as much info as I can about the proper way to take off the old one and install the new one before I get started on it. Thanks.
I didn't bother replacing mine... I just stopped filling up the overflow tank. I check mine about once a month. Once the coolant drops below a certain point then additional loss is next to nothing.
YMMV

I already have the radiator so I might as well put it in there. The crack on my current radiator is near the top of the one tank so it seems to only leak right after I turn the engine off and the fluid expands to the top of the tank. Of course, when I completely fill the radiator and overflow tank it leaks a lot more. I just bought a Haynes Manual for my truck and read over what needs to be done. It doesn't seem too bad actually. I may still get some help from someone that has replaced one before just to be safe.
How did it go replacing the radiator? I'm about to do mine...
Did you have any issues? Did you find anymore videos or other resources about how to do it?
I've never done it before either so I'm a bit apprehensive.
Any info would be VERY helpful.
Thanks!
It went pretty well. Not too hard actually. Did it without any help. The hardest part of the whole job was loosening the tranny cooler lines. They were quite stubborn at first. I couldn't find any more info online but I have a Haynes manual that helped me a little. Let me know how it goes and if you have any questions about it. Get a haynes manual if you don't already have one.
